Meredith Laura Lynn and I to expand our cast of 18th and 19th century Bad Outdoorsmen to include Thomas Moran, who painted the West throughout his career. Not unlike the outdoor industry today, there was a financial motivation for his work. This piece was made in the scale of his original painting of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.

This piece was commissioned by the Hunter Museum of American Art for the Hunter Invitational.
