Small Animals Make First Paths

Two maps flop to the ground, with two small video screens next to them.
A close up of the map with graphite writing on it.

An installation exploring access to public lands through the experience of two youth in eastern Oregon. In the video a young woman struggles to find her way down after following a sheep’s path up a steep hill, and a young boy tests gravity to consider the impact of the land on his body.

Shown in various ways at Michigan Technical University, the Beverly Sam Ross Gallery.
