Bad Outdoorsmen (Episode 2) (Ruffner Mountain)
This video continues Meredith Laura Lynn and my project connecting the historic and contemporary process of outdoor myth making. In this installment, we take language from the History Channel TV show “Alone” capturing the moments when contestants choose to quit the contest and go home. While these characters enter the season filled with confidence, bragging about their outdoor survival skills, their exits offer rare moments of humility in the face of nature.
This piece was commissioned Vinegar Projects and shown at TSA Greenville and the University of Wyoming Art Museum.
