Liberty or Death: I improve

A flag is flown with an image of an earthworm on it. The flag says "Liberty or Death: I improve"
A flag on the interior of a gallery. Below the flag is a grid of black eyed susan plants.

An exploration of the history of the Gadsden Flag, this flag uses the image of the earthworm, questioning the threatening language of "dont tread on me," and instead imagining a positive alternative. A historic Gadsden Flag was fed to red wriggler earthworms, and the resulting compost was used to grow native plants.
